Designed to help school district level leaders navigate teaching science and STEM has challenges in a typical setting, with the added pressures of doing so in the COVID-19 environment. Flinn has curated some resources for you on how to safely open schools, and what that will look like for science and STEM programs specifically. We will look at the various instructional models being discussed; the synchronous/asynchronous aspects of teaching and learning for science students; sanitation/disinfection protocols for high-touch items in the lab; how to teach remotely (while ensuring authentic learning in a safe environment); and prep room concerns resulting from a longer school closure. We will be providing some ‘best-practices’ for science educators to assist in this new instructional model in order to enhance student learning and facilitate teacher instruction.
